The mediation procedure is confidential and confidential under the terms of article 30 of Law 13.140/2015 . The mediator may not act as an arbitrator or act as a witness in judicial or arbitration proceedings relating to disputes that he has acted as a mediator.

The mediation term has legal value under the terms of article 20 of Law 13.140/2015 .

The parties will only remain in the mediation procedure if they so wish.

​

The same legal grounds for impediment and suspicion of the judge apply to the mediator.

​

Mediation can take place in person or virtually if the parties prefer.

​

Mediation is carried out through meetings that can be joint or individual.

We remind you that in mediation the will of the parties must prevail and the first meeting with the parties is held especially to explain the procedure, details and resolve doubts, and it takes place at no cost to the participants, especially so that people know the procedure.

If the participants opt for judicial approval of the agreement or the case requires approval (as in cases involving unavailable but transferable rights, for example), before starting the procedure you will have all the data of the Clearinghouse and can, if you wish, check its accreditation in the Court of Justice where it is accredited.
